Description
George Armstrong Custer: Unusual Family Portrait. Custer was photographed many times over the course of his short career. Some poses were widely disseminated, while others are difficult to source. This falls into the latter category. It is a Mathew Brady CDV with "Brady Washington" on the mount and an Anthony/Brady back mark. It has gold-ruled borders and depicts a seated Custer, his wife Libby, and his brother (identified in ink on the verso). Save for an inconsequential ripple along the extreme right edge, it is in excellent condition.Auction Info
