Description
George Armstrong Custer: Brady Carte-de-visite [CDV]. K-50, taken on January 3, 1865. Gold-rule borders, Brady of New York credit and back mark. Very faint sunning from long-time insertion in a photo album. Sharp corners. Professional restoration to a small piece in the upper right corner and a flea-bite middle of the right edge. Diagonal tear to lower left corner of albumen (essentially imperceptible and smooth to the touch), along with some touch-up to small abrasions in the field. These do not affect the portrait in any way. The overall presentation is excellent. A fine, war-date image.Auction Info
