Description

Frederick Douglass: Scarce Carte-de-Visite by Warren.
CDV of the noted African American statesman and orator with Warren of Boston credit and back mark. Excellent condition. Douglass was a leading spokesman for the abolition of slavery and for racial equality. He also became active in the woman's suffrage movement. In 1866, along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, he founded the American Equal Rights Association.
