Civil War Union Cartes-de-visite: Identified Soldiers. Studio portrait of seated soldier identified as Frederick H. Welton. He served in Company B, Connecticut 7th Infantry, was wounded at Drewry's Bluff on May 14, 1864 and promoted to First Sergeant. B. Sprague of New Haven back mark. 2) Seated portrait of soldier identified on verso as "Herbert Landon/ 2d Lieut. 6th C.V./ New Berne, N.C." London Stereoscopic Company of N.Y. back mark, light mottling. 3) Vignette image of "A. O. Comstock/ Co. H 14th Conn/ died Dec 11 1863". Corporal Albert Comstock served in the army for 16 months before becoming a casualty. Morgan & Bolles of New London back mark, rounded corners, heavy stain. 4) Civilian vignette portrait of young man twice identified as "Corporal Birdsey Beckley, Co. F/ Killed at Fredericksburg Va/ Dec 13, 1862." Beckley served in the Connecticut 14th Infantry. Prescott & Gage of Hartford back mark, trimmed top and right with rounded corners at bottom.
