Civil War Union Cartes-de-visite: Identified Soldiers. Standing portrait of soldier identified on verso as "Henry A. Garrison/ 7th Regt. N.J. Vol." Moses of Trenton back mark, three thumb tack holes top and bottom. 2) Vignette portrait of man twice-identified as Alfred A. Dickinson of Hartford, Connecticut. He served in the Connecticut 16th Infantry, was captured at Plymouth, North Carolina on April 20, 1864, but escaped six months later. R. S. Delameter of Hartford back mark. 3) Bold studio portrait of soldier identified as Lt. W. H. Birge who served in the Connecticut 1st Heavy Artillery before being discharged for disability on May 5,1864. No back mark, slightly trimmed along right edge. 4) Bold seated portrait of soldier identified as "Capt Ford 8th C.V." Roger M. Ford served in Company G, Connecticut 8th Infantry. He was wounded at Petersburg on June 25, 1864. Kennedy & Schenk of Newark, N.J. back mark.
