Civil War General Winfield Scott Hancock: Signed Carte de Visite (CDV). Chest up view of Hancock, Gutekunst, Philadelphia, Pa. back imprint. Hancock has signed with his rank on the albumen below his image. Hancock was an 1864 graduate of West Point. He fought with distinction in several battles, most notably at Gettysburg, where he sustained a wound while sitting atop his horse and directing his men. This wound would affect him the rest of the war.Condition: Toning to albumen, signature slightly light. Overall fine.
