Description

Brigadier General Marcus Wright: Signed Carte de Visite (CDV). Confederate General wounded at Shiloh, fought at Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge. He was instrumental in the publication of the War of the Rebellion. Boldly signed on the mount "Marcus J. Wright, Brig. Genl. P.A.C.S." Has a "Collection of Americana Frederick H. Meserve" imprint on the verso.

Frederick H. Meserve was a world-renowned collector of Lincoln and Civil War-era photography, compiling a catalog of known Lincoln images and other Civil War personalities.

Condition: Pencil notations on the verso, pin hole at lower left. Overall a fine example.
