Description

Abraham Lincoln and Seth Kinman: Three Cartes de Visite [CDVs]. A tintype of Abraham Lincoln on CDV mount features Lincoln in the five dollar bill pose and accompanies two other CDV's of Seth Kinman. One of these is a CDV of the "Elk-Horn Chair, Presented to President Lincoln, Nov. 2nd 1864, by Seth Kinman, the California Hunter and Trapper." Brady credit. Kinman later presented a similar chair to Andrew Johnson. Rounding out the group of three is a self-published CDV of "Seth Kinman, California Hunter and Trapper, who presented President Lincoln with the Elk-Horn Chair."

Condition: The tintype of Lincoln on a CDV mount is in excellent condition. The image of the elk-horn chair has a Brady credit, with slight loss at the bottom right corner. The self-published CDV of Kinman has slightly bumped corners but is still a fine example.
