Description

Hawaiian Royalty Photograph Album containing over fifty nineteenth century tintypes, cartes de visite, and cabinet cards featuring children, women, and men of Hawaiian and European decent. Among the Hawaiian subjects are Queen Emma of Hawaii (1836-1885), David Kalakaua (1836-1891), and Queen Kapiolani (1834-1899), the wife of David Kalakaua. The stamp on the verso of some of the cabinet cards identifies the studio of J. Williams & Co. of Honolulu. The album measures 8.5" x 11" and the covers are covered in worn purple velvet. The album is worn and the lock is missing.
