Description

Cabinet Card Photograph of Early View Street Scene, Dodge City, Kansas, ca. 1870s-1880s. A very historic, early view of Dodge City, Kansas with numbers labeling the position of the original buildings. The numbers over the buildings correspond to the label on the reverse in period script ink, which lists four saloons among 16 total buildings. The label lists no. 6 as "Chas. Rath's & Co. Genl. Mdse." (General Merchandise). Also listed at no. 16 is the, "Dodge City Hotel". No detail is obscured and some of the signs can be observed. Due to the period identification on the reverse, a historical item such as this should be prized in any collection of Dodge City, Kansas or western items. Measures approximately 6.25" x 4.25".

Condition:
Very good, light toning, bump on the bottom left corner and some staining.
