Description

M1860 Light Cavalry Saber and Scabbard. U. S. M1860 light cavalry saber and scabbard that appears to be an early battlefield pickup. Base of blade stamped "Henry Ecker Solingen". Hilt excellent with grip retaining all of the wire and about 50% of the original leather. Blade generally smooth and dark gray. Scabbard with considerable old surface rust on the lower 2/3's and a small hole rusted through near the drag. The sword can only be readily placed in the scabbard for about 4/5's of its length before becoming very tight. Interesting example.
