The Newcastle Courant (Newcastle Upon Tyne, England) Aug 29, 1778: Battle of Monmouth Court House. Revolutionary War newspaper contains 3 columns of text with a long and very detailed first report of the BATTLE OF MONMOUTH COURT HOUSE (NJ). This was the last major Revolutionary War battle fought in the Northern American Colonies. The British would switch to a "Southern strategy" in the aftermath of their defeat at the Battle of Monmouth Court House, where a heroic General George Washington "saved the day" by rallying his troops against British forces.Condition: Fine.
