John Wilkes Booth: Washington Chronicle-Second Edition. Dated April 29, 1865, this 8-page, 15 1/2" X 21 1/4" newspaper "NOON SECOND EXTRA" contains black "mourning rules" throughout and contains a prominent front page engraved portrait of Lincoln assassin JOHN WILKES BOOTH. This issue reports in great detail the "breaking news" of the pursuit, capture and resulting death of Presidential assassin Booth at the hands of US Army forces. Very dramatic "BOOTH DEAD" Civil War newspaper. A rare issue!
