Description

1860 Sheet Music "I Wish I Was In Dixie's Land" with Four Issues of the Vicksburg Daily Whig. The sheet music is six pages, 10" x 13.25", New York; 1860. Published by Firth, Pond & Co., the music was written and composed expressly for Bryant's Minstrels. Music by Dan D. Emmett and arranged by W.L. Hobbs. With ads on the final page for additional music sold by Firth, Pond & Co. The music has light toning with soiling throughout.

With Four Issues of the Vicksburg Daily Whig Newspaper. Includes the following issues:
March 28, 1863: Vol. XXIV, No. 62. Two pages, front and back, 16.5" x 22.5". With news on the Siege of Vicksburg and the Yazoo Pass Expedition.
September 23, 1862: Vol. XXIII, No. 169. Two pages, front and back, 17" x 22.5". With a printed Roll of the 14th Mississippi Regiment and Dispatches to the Northern Press.
September 5, 1861: Vol. XXII, No. 175. Four pages, 15.25" x 22.5". With numerous ads, News from Richmond, and a call for blankets for soldiers.
September 20, 1861: Vol. XXII, No. 186. Four pages, 15.25" x 22.5". With numerous ads, the Design of the Confederates, and Topography of the Seat of War.

All four issues have "Rev Crane" written in pencil at the top margin. Newspapers have varying degrees of toning, creasing, and edge chipping. Some areas of dampstaining. Flattened folds. All proceeds to benefit educational programs at The Bryan Museum.
