B. T. Welch & Co.: Mexico. (Baltimore: F. Lucas Jr., circa 1823). Plate size 11.75" x 9". Hand-colored. Originally appeared in A General Atlas Containing Distinct Maps Of all the Known Countries in the World, Constructed from the Latest Authority. Beautifully executed map with fine detail and with a large portion of southern Texas listed as "San Luis Potosi". The towns of Mier, San Antonio, and "Loredo" are noted. New Mexico appears as thin sliver on either side of the "Rio Bravo del Norte". This lovely map has only some trivial scattered light foxing but is in otherwise excellent condition.
