Inset map at top left corner titled "Sketch of the River Niagara." Attractive map of the United State featuring the independent Republic of Texas. With intricate detail depicting roads and trails, railways, canals, an d lighthouses. All of the important Texas settlements are marked, and a note at the bottom reads: "The Independence of Texas was formally declared in March 1836. It was recognized by Great Britain in Novr. 1840; and has been acknowledged by the United States, France, Holland and Belgium."

Condition: Lightly toned at margins. Flattened fold at center. Pencil notation on right side of bottom margin; and spot of soiling at bottom left corner.
