[Map]. Samuel Augustus Mitchell. Map of Kentucky and Tennessee Compiled from the Latest Authorities. Philadelphia: S. Augustus Mitchell, 1832. Measuring 21.75" x 16.75" (sight), a wonderfully detailed, full hand colored map, by county. Table of statistical data at upper left corner giving population counts for 1790, 1800, and 1810 as well as the 1820 population divided into white, free blacks, and slaves. Also, population numbers divided by profession. Statistics are for both Kentucky and Tennessee. Pencil notations noting the locations of Indianapolis, Madison, and Dublin. Scattered spots of staining at lower and right edges. Small stain at Hopkins County, Kentucky. Separation at the left edge of the main horizontal fold. Matted and framed with the original board, with titles in gilt, to an overall size of 29.25" x 24.5".Auction Info
