John Wilkes Booth: 1863 Boston Museum Playbill for Richard III. 4.75" x 13.5" playbill for the January 19, 1863 performance of Booth as the Duke of Gloster in "Richard III" at the Boston Museum. This was the first of twenty-four performances by Booth at the Boston Museum during January and mid-February 1863. By this time in his acting career, Booth usually opened his tours of cities and towns with this Shakespeare play. According to a local newspaper, Booth performance was witnessed by an audience of more than 2,000. This playbill was printed in Boston by F.A. Searle.
