Description

JACKIE ROBINSON/ DODGER YEARBOOKS. For the benefit of the accomplished Dodger collection, we present these two annuals. One of these is the first Brooklyn Dodger Yearbook. As a bona fide ‘yearbook,’ this publication was sold as a concession in 1947. Originally, it was an 80-page printing, but shortly after its introduction, an unnumbered two-page insert was bound in the publication which highlighted the arrival of Jackie Robinson and new manager, Burt Shotten. Aside from very minor damage to the cover’s upper right corner, this yearbook is fully EX/MT. The staples, internal pages and cover surfaces are immaculate. The other annual offered here is a 1939 hardbound "Campus" yearbook which coincides with Jackie Robinson’s last year at Pasadena Junior College. This is an expansive tome detailing every aspect of the school and student body. As we should expect, Robinson is pictured several times in the football and basketball sections. This volume is minimally EX, with only a small stain and light toning on its front cover.(# This item may require additional shipping charges).
