H. Rap Brown "Let Rap Rap!" Poster. 16.5" x 21.25", Los Angeles; 1968. A black and white poster featuring Jamil Abullah Al-Amin, also known as both H. Rap Brown and Hubert Gerold Brown, giving a speech. He was the fifth Chairman of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee. He served as the Minister of Justice for the Black Panther Party during the two parties' brief union, which lasted approximately six months. He is most famous for his 1967 speech in Washington, D.C. where he proclaimed, "I say violence is necessary. Violence is a part of America's culture. It is as American as cherry pie. Americans taught the black people to be violent. We will use that violence to rid ourselves of oppression if necessary. We will be free, by any means necessary."

Condition: Two areas of cello-tape at top margin. Very lightly rubbed with the occasional minor wrinkle.
