Description
Western Expansion: Donner Party Murphy's Cabin Relic. 1.75" tall glass bottle, sealed with sealing wax, containing assorted organic material, such as twigs, seeds and soil. It has an attached tag dated August 12, 1893, indicating the material was taken from the last foundation log of the Murphy Cabin, with a printed affidavit to that effect on the verso. Sold together with a price tag for a "History of the Donner Party" marketed by C. F. McGlashan of Truckee, California, who pledges that proceeds from the sale will be allocated for the erection of a monument to the Donner Party.Auction Info
