Tombstone, Arizona: Earliest Known Postal Cover. This postal cover, 5 1/8" x 3 1/8" and dated August 26, 1879, is the earliest known postal cancellation from Tombstone. A post office was established in Tombstone on December 2, 1878. Richard Gird was Tombstone's first postmaster. The postal cover is in excellent condition.Auction Info
