Steel Engraving of Samuel Colt with Revolver, circa 1850. 6" x 8.5" (sight), framed on an overall size of 10.5" x 10.75". A rare bust portrait (believed to be based on a lost daguerreotype of Colt) of the American inventor and founder of Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company, posing with one of his revolvers, his left thumb is gently pressed against the hammer. Lightly toned.
