Description
Revolutionary War Bond, "Committee of War/ No. 3721". One page partly printed, 7" x 7", March 21, 1777, "State of Massachusetts-Bay". This bond paid six percent interest on this fifty pound bond and is signed by Treasurer "D. Jeffries". Intricately engraved border; near fine. Matted and framed to an overall size of 11.25" x 11.25".More Information:
In part: "For value received for the use of the State of the Massachusetts-Bay, I do in behalf of said State, hereby promise and oblige myself , and Successors in the Office of Treasurer, to pay to the possessor of this Note the Sum of Fifty Pounds . . . interest at Six per Cent. per Annum."
