Description

Partly Printed Texan Land Grant Signed by Governor Elisha M. Pease. One page, 14.75" x 11.75" on vellum, Austin, April 3, 1854. This document authorizes a grant of 320 acres "In Nacogdoches District, Dallas County, on the waters of the East Fork of the Trinity River," to Henry K. Vollentine. Two embossed stamps at lower edge. Boldly signed by Pease at lower right offset by the large and flourishing signature of Stephen Crosby as Commissioner of the General Land Office. Document bears an engraved decorative border and utilizes several different decorative fonts. Moderately faded. Very good.
