Description

Mexican Consular Passport Signed by Juan Francisco Cortes. Two pages including integral blank, 4to, Natchitoches, March 19, 1835. Partly printed document requests safe passage through Texas and other parts of the United States for Barton Clark of Vermont. Handsome vignette of the coat of arms of the Republica Federal Mexicana at head. Bold signature of Cortes as Vice-Consul of the United States of Mexico. Document is age toned, chipped and brittle, and bears significant tape marks on both leaves.
