Jesse, Jr. and Stella James: A Handwritten Invitation to Their 1900 Wedding. The only example of which we are aware. Stella (1882-1971) is well-known for her book In the Shadow of Jesse James, posthumously edited by Milton F. Perry. Relations had been notoriously closemouthed when it came to revealing family insights (When old Zerelda was asked a question about her sons' outlaw days, she would reply "military secrets."), and Stella's are the only writings from someone who knew intimately all the key players, (except for Jesse, Sr. of course). The invitation is 5.125" x 6.375", and is in excellent condition.Auction Info
