Description

Ignacio Balseco Signed Receipts for Horse Pasturing at Texas Ranches. Two receipts, each measuring approximately 8.75" x 6.5", "San Jose Ranch," January 14, 1846, and "Santa Gertrudis Ranch," February 8, 1846. During the Mexican-American War military troops needed good pastureland upon which to feed and rest their horses. Here, the 7th Cavalry Regiment has issued a $5 receipt and a $58 receipt for corn and use of pasture lands. Each receipt is bright and fresh; very fine condition.
