Geronimo: An 1887 Letter Describing an Encounter with the Apache Leader. "...Just came from St. Augustine where I saw 460 Apache Indians, who were captured by Gen. Miles and confined in the old Spanish fort. They are an ugly set of savages. I shook hands with their Chief Geronimo, and saw an old squaw who had scalped over twenty Union soldiers..." 3 pp., excellent condition, with original mailing envelope.
