Description
Confederate States of America Stock Certificate. One partially-printed page, 8.75" x 6.25", Richmond, August 12, 1864. This certificate, issued to James W. Beckham, promises payment of $500 "two years after the ratification of a treaty of peace with the United States . . . with Interest at the rate of Six per Cent per Annum." The certificate was assigned to J.R. Ervin less than two months later. Scattered foxing with some ink bleedthrough from the verso.Auction Info
