Description
Confederate Blockade Runner Stock Certificate.Charleston, South Carolina, June 4, 1863, certificate for three shares in the "Importing and Exporting Company of South Carolina." Signed by William C. Bee, one of the most prominent owners of blockade runners. Bee and a group of other investors formed the business in April 1861 when the Union Navy began its blockade. Normal folds with some archival tape repairs on verso. Excellent condition overall.
