Description

1895 Oklahoma Territory Document Regarding a Train Robbery by the Doolin Gang.
A signed deposition by one Ed Logston, presumably a passenger, stating that a man named "Gloust" did "interfere with the Passenger Train on the Rock Island Railroad carrying the United States Mail by holding up said train and Robbing Same and Delaying the Mail." Logston also identifies three other witnesses who were aboard the train, one of whom was former U.S. Marshal William Grimes.

This was a well-documented robbery which led to a major shoot-out with a pursuing posse, in which "Tulsa Jack" Blake was killed. A detailed account is included with the lot, including the role of Marshal Grimes. 8" x 13.5", and in excellent condition.
