[Samuel Clemens] Mark Twain: Harper's Weekly Poster. 12 1/2" x 15 5/8" three-color lithograph promotional poster for Mark Twain's "Stirring Times in Austria." Designed in 1898 by Edward Penfield for Harper's Magazine, the poster features a bold, stylized profile portrait of Twain set against a vivid yellow background, with text announcing the article in Harper's March issue. An iconic example of American Art Nouveau graphic design. Mounted to a linen backing sheet to an overall size of 14 1/8" x 17 5/8".Condition: Lightly toned. Short, closed tear at right edge; minor soiling to lower right.
