[Pony Express Related] Wells Fargo & Co's. Express and Rhodes Banking Documents. A pair of California Gold Rush items. (1) Rhodes & Company Bankers check 7.25" x 2.75", Shasta California 1854. (2) Wells Fargo and Company Express 1866 receipt, 8.25" x 5.5", for bullion from Savage & Co. with Nevada Tax Stamp affixed. Signed by Harry Roff (Pony Express Rider). Some give Harry Roff credit as being the first pony rider out of Sacramento eastward.Condition: Very fine.
