[Mickey Spillane]. [Militaria]. Collection of Spillane's World War II Relics. [Various places: December 1941 and later]. Dog tags; military records; photographs; buttons; pins; patches; three Bibles (one with Spillane's ownership signature) and various booklets. Together with the author's Sterling Silver WWII Army Air Force Pilot's Wing Bracelet, a standard 3" sterling silver pilot's wing maker marked "LGB" (Balfour) and engraved on the reverse with Spillane's Army serial number "AO-808754", his flight class "43 G", and date "3-9-46" (his birthday); an A-2 Style Leather Flight Jacket, commercially produced after the war by Cooper Sportswear Manufacturing (size 46R) and customized by Spillane (as he did with several other flight jackets in his wardrobe) with a leather Southeast Training Command (the training command under which Spillane served) unit insignia above the left breast pocket, mounted just above the insignia with Velcro strips is a black leather name tag, stamped in silver with Command Pilot wings and "F. M. SPILLANE / CAPT USAF;" also including a Macgregor Sporting Goods football jersey, produced circa 1970, black with red, size 48, number 819 (Spillane's aircraft wing number). A deep and varied collection with appropriate artifacts as well as Spillane's sentimental pastiches. Generally very good or better. From the Estate of Mickey Spillane.
