[Mexican War] and [Enos D. Hopping]. W.C. Hopping Autograph Letter and Cover. Two pages, 7.75" x 9.5", New Orleans, September 9, 1847. Addressed to Harriet Hopping just eight days after the death of her husband, Brig. Gen. Enos D. Hopping, who died in Northern Mexico of yellow fever, the author writes of a similar epidemic in New Orleans. Cover bears a Brazos Type VI postmark. Folds. Light smudging of the ink.Auction Info
