    Description

EARLY SAMMY SOSA WARM-UP JACKET. It’s now been more than a decade since Sammy donned the threads of Chicago’s Southside nine. His slugging might had yet to blossom, but clearly, he had rooted himself there as an everyday player. From those formative years with the White Sox, we present one of his warm-up jackets. Crafted in the highest quality satin and remaining in virtually perfect condition, it confesses little in the way of wear. The jacket is a Starter Diamond Collection (XL) as is evidenced by its only label. This manufacturer’s tag, located in the collar, also bears a black marker inscription "25 Sosa" (indicating his uniform number with the Sox). For good measure, this jacket bears Sosa’s conspicuous autograph by the left pocket. That signature ("9"), along with the garment’s authenticity, is affirmed by an LOA (also signed by Sammy) from ASI. (# This item may require additional shipping charges).

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
