Description

Broadside for a Theatrical Production of Uncle Tom's Cabin.
Double-sided, 10.25" x 28"
No place; no date (circa 1890s)

An advertisement for "A Magnificent Production of That Sterling Historical Drama Uncle Tom's Cabin or Life Among the Lowly", a production of Harriet Beecher Stowe's famous story, produced by the Uncle Tom's Cabin Company. The large broadside features illustrations of events from the story. The advert is clear to state that the production is "NOT A MOVING PICTURE SHOW", but a theater show.

Condition: Flattened folds, with small tears and separations at the creases and edges. Most of these have been repaired with archival tape on verso. A small hole is present under the main title. Light chipping at the edges has also caused some paper loss. Paper is very thin and fragile.
