Description

Wild West: Butch Cassidy Reward Broadside. The exploits of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are all well-known to us due to the popular film of the same name. The "Wild Bunch Gang" robbed banks and trains in Wyoming and retreated to their "Hole-in-the-Wall" hideout when things got hot. In 1901, during the time this poster was issued, they went to Argentina with their accomplice and girlfriend Etta Place. Continuing along the "primrose path", they were eventually killed by Bolivian authorities in 1908, or so the legend goes. This 17" x 14" Pinkerton wanted poster offers $6,500 reward for the likes of Kid Curry, Deaf Charlie, George Parker (a.k.a., Butch Cassidy) and Harry Longbaugh (a.k.a., the Kid). The broadside is somewhat delicate, with minor damp stains and separation at the folds. It is an authentic relic of the waning days of the Western outlaw.
