Slave Auction Broadside: "Land & Negroes for Sale!" Single oversized sheet, 12.25" x 12.3", Jackson, Tennessee, Oct. 26, 1853. Printed by the newspaper offices of the West Tennessee Whig. Auctioneer T. Clark advertises the sale of "157 Acres of land... Also five likely and valuable Negroes, to wit: Mira, 40 years old; Jack, 25; Burrel, 13; Kitty, 4; Joe, 10." With foxing and some evidence of ghosting resulting from storage against another printing. With folds and bits of paper loss along bottom, well away from any text.Auction Info
