Release Eldridge Cleaver! Pamphlet
7" x 8.5", 4 pages of a bifolium
California; circa 1968

Published by the Berkeley Litho Service. Featuring a photograph of the Cleavers' home after the April 6, 1968 police raid. Written by his wife, Mrs. Kathleen Cleaver, the pamphlet is "An appeal for letters demanding justice from the California Adult Authority." During the shootout with Oakland police, two officers and Cleaver were wounded, while 17-year-old Black Panther member Bobby Hutton was killed. Cleaver was subsequently charged with attempted murder and was forced to flee to Cuba.

Produced by the Philadelphia Branch of the Black Panther Party. Featuring an illustration of a pig dressed as a police officer. Beside it reads, "Definition of a PIG: A low natured beast, that has no regard for law or justice; or the rights of the people. Bites the hand that feeds it; usually 'masquerading as the victim of an unprovoked attack!' PEOPLE BEWARE! Pigs come in all colors - from a white racist to the blackest of lackeys - u all /u kill!"

Published by Glad Day Press. Within the leaflet are outlined the platforms of the Black Panther Party, including stances on freedom, employment, housing, police brutality, and others.

Cisco-Kidd Pig Rizzo Oinks Again! Pamphlet

Philadelphia; [1970]

Featuring a scanned newspaper clipping of the statement made by Philadelphia police commissioner, Frank Rizzo, exonerating two officers accused of killing Harold Brown. Juxtaposed a statement made by the Black Panther Party who claim that "Rizzo's Mafia" killed Brown. On verso is a copy of an article on the death of another black man killed by police, James Hamilton. Again, the flyer states that the police and the press "work hand in hand with Cisco-Kidd Rizzo."

Do you REALLY Know Dellums?

Volume 33, Number 23. Featuring two black and white photographs of Huey Newton and Ron Dellums. The text under the photographs reads "Score two for the people," with further quotes by Dellums regarding his support for the Black Panther Party below. Dellums was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1970, making him the first African-American to be elected to Congress from Northern California.

Condition: Varying degrees of toning throughout pages. There is staining at some upper corners from paper clips. Minor chipping to some edges. Most have flattened folds or creasing.
