    Bobby Seale Student Protest Poster.
    21.75" x 28.5"
    No place; circa 1970

A black and white print of Bobby Seale, possibly produced by strikers at Harvard University during the protests in 1970. Under Seale's image is printed in bold black lettering, "The United States government end its systematic oppressions of political dissidents, and release all political prisoners, such as Bobby Seale and other members of the Black Panther Party, draft resisters, doctors who perform illegal abortions, and G.I.'s who fight against officers and United States foreign policy."

There were large demonstrations across the country as university students went on strike to show solidarity with the New Haven Black Panthers. Much of the protesting revolved around the arrest and trial of Bobby Seale, who had been charged with the murder of Alex Rackley. In mid-April 1970, demonstrators from the "Bobby Seale Contingent" led a march to Harvard Square. Some of the protestors broke windows, set fires, and looted a number of stores. The police ultimately broke up the crowd of almost 3,000 by setting off tear gas.

Condition: Light wear and dampstaining at the edges. There are a few small tears along the edges, with creasing at the corners.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
