Description

Auditor's Certificate Issued to William Bryan. Single sheet containing two certificates, 7" x 8". Washington, January 20, 1843. Two certificates for $100 each, No. 187 and 188 (attached), issued to William Bryan. Engrossed on January 20, 1843, and payable on January 1, 1848. Each is endorsed on the verso by Edward Hall, as surviving partner of Bryan & Hall. Signed Charles Mason as auditor and Samuel Shaw as comptroller.

Condition: Nine cut cancellations, including three resulting in paper loss in the shape of a triangle at the top edge, affecting the engraved border. Flattened folds, ink from verso has bled through to front.
