Description

1934 ALL-STAR GAME PROGRAM. Not yet fully appreciated as an American institution, the All-Star Game of 1934 was held in the Polo Grounds. The regular season’s schedule paused long enough for what turned out to be one of the most star-studded gatherings of baseball talent ever. For that matter the event didn’t even seem weighty enough to substantiate an isolated printing for the program. Fans converged that summer day, some buying what appeared to be a standard New York Giants’ program. Instead, the scorecard within itemized a veritable cavalcade of eventual Hall of Famers. This then, is the official program from the game that witnessed Hubbell’s remarkable strikeout feat. The program is unscored and has a mild fold vertically. It’s fragile but remains fully intact -- minimally VG/EX by any standard.
