[Mexican War]. Mexican Federal Eagle with War Insignia Painting, circa 1846. 22" x 16.5" (sight). Oil on canvas painting depicting the Mexican coat of arms which features the Mexican Golden Eagle perched on a prickly cactus while devouring a snake. Other important symbols include a trumpet, drum, and cannon. This painting may have been cut from a larger Mexican War period banner. Framed on an overall size of 24.5" x 19.25". Some moderate tears (possibly repaired) and staining on canvas.
