Description
Unequaled German Quality Brecht Drilling Rifle. Cal. 8 x 57/16 gauge. Serial number 8754. An extraordinary German drilling of unsurpassed quality featuring 25" barrels with a matte rib flip rear sight and claw scope base. This is the less common configuration featuring two 8 x 57 rifle barrels and one 16 gauge shotgun barrel . The barrels are marked "G. Brecht/ Suhl". Gold floral accents decorate the breech and a sling swivel is mounted underneath the barrel. The receiver's floral engraving is chiseled in deep relief with the flat areas stippled to produce a matte effect. The same technique is employed on the trigger guard, lever, and forearm trim. The action is stamped with a German eagle proof mark. The stunning European walnut pistol grip stock is finely checkered and has a fluted horn grip cap and Pachmayr Old English rubber recoil pad. The forearm is checkered in a complimentary fashion. This handsome drilling features a Greener-style side safety and weighs 8¼ pounds, with an overall length of 41¼". This is an investment grade drilling in excellent condition. Although a truly beautiful gun we are of the opinion the stock has been professionally and artfully refinsihed, although nearly impossible to detect.Auction Info
