Description

Lot of Three U.S. Navy WWII Era Ship's Clocks. An interesting grouping of three distinct types including: (1) Chelsea Mark I Boat Clock. Plated brass, measuring 6" in diameter at the base, 3.75" deep, dated 1939. A note on the inside of the base reads: "Sailfish conning tower". The USS Sailfish (SS-192) was a Sargo class submarine which saw extensive action in the Pacific during WWII. The clock's mechanism is untested and minor adjustment is needed in order for the clock to line up with the mounting base. Otherwise it is in very good condition. (2) Seth Thomas Mark I Boat Clock. Approximately 5" in diameter at the base, 4" deep, dated 1941. This version features a Bakelite body. Mechanism untested. Externally in excellent condition. (3) Seth Thomas Deck Clock. U.S. Navy marked, undated, measuring approximately 7.75" in diameter, 2.75" deep. Bakelite body. Mechanism untested. Modest handling wear, else very good condition. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.
