General Chennault's Visor Hat With Signed Card From Naval Relief Fund Auction Claire Lee Channault (1893-1958) commanded the 1st American Volunteer Group in China better known as the Flying Tigers and later the 14th Air Force during WWII. The lot consists of a US Army officers green wool visor hat in excellent condition maker marked " Cohen Uniform Co. 1015 Second Ave Seattle", restitched leather sweatband with the inked initials "C.L.C. Also included is a 3" X 5" typed card which reads " Navy Relief Fund Auction / Item: WW2 Army Air Corps Officers Hat / Control Number: 85 / Donated By: Maj. Gen. C. L. Chennault, USAAC" and signed C.L. Chennault.
