Description
Colt Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol With British Proofs. Cal. .45. Serial number 1195694. G.H.D. inspector's mark aft of the trigger on the left side of the frame. "Not English Make" stamped on the right side of the frame and slide. Various British nitro proofs on the barrel, frame and slide, but no military broad arrow stamp. This beautiful 1911A1's serial number range puts it squarely in the 1943 production range. It has been refinished in a deep commercial blue, commercial style trigger, and commercial checkered wooden grips with the gold Colt dancing pony medallion inset into each grip. The condition is excellent, with only a few spots of light surface rust likely as a result of storage in the tooled leather holster that accompanies it.Auction Info
