Description
Rare Roundel Insignia Removed From U. S. Air Service Neiuport 28. Approximately 20" in diameter. A fantastic aviation relic from WWI, this doped-fabric section features the red, blue and white roundel insignia of America's Army Air Service. The consignor indicates that this insignia if from the lower wing panel of a French-made Nieuport 28 fighter. The Nieuport 28 was purchased in large numbers from the French government and was the aircraft initially supplied to fledgling U. S. fighter squadrons in France. This roundel displays old fold marks and darkened a bit from age, otherwise it is in very good condition.Auction Info
